LULU MARY WOLF
Lulu Mary Wolf, daughter of Isaac George and Mary Myrtle Baird Wolf, was born on a farm near Quinlan, Oklaoma on July 25, 1907. On January 18, 1927, she was married to Jesse Robert Patterson at Woodward, Woodward County, Oklahoma by L. D. Robertson, County Judge in the presence of Mary M. Wolf of Quinlan, Oklahoma and I. M. Warren of Woodward, Oklahoma. Lulu and Jesse made their home on the Patterson Homestead in Major County, where they raised their family.
They were the parents of nine children; Edra Lois, Frances Marie, Russel Isaac, Bessie Lou, Fay Louise, Roberta May, Leola Pearl, Robert Jesse, and Janice Mae. All of the children but Bessie Lou, Robert Jesse and Janice Mae were born on the Patterson Homestead. Bessie was born in Missouri at the home of Lulu's mother, Robert was born in Mooreland, Oklahoma at home of Jesse's parents and Janice was born in Mooreland, Oklahoma at the home of a friend, Lucy Hobbs.
Lulu Patterson attended the Mayfield Assembly of God Church and was a member of the Sherman Home Demonstration Club.
After the death of her husband in 1952 Lulu moved to Cheyenne Valley, Oklahoma and cooked for the school. She lived there until 1964 and all the children had finished high school. At this time she moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where she was employed as a nurses aid at the Pekrul Manor Nursing Home for 12 years. She resided in Enid, Oklahoma until her death April 25, 1977, at the age of 69 years and 9 months.
Lulu was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, an infant son, Russell, a grandson, James Max Shuck, her parents, Isaac George and Mary Myrtle Wolf and step-father, Charley Henry Benefiel, and two sisters, Letha Schlarb and Bessie Kragh.
She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Robert J. Patterson and wife Sue of Lahoma; seven daughters, Edra Shuck and husband John of Oklahoma City, Frances May and husband William of Edmond, Bessie McDowell and husband Kenneth of Winner, S. D., Fay Bouse of Oklahoma City, Roberta Walker and husband Donald of Chester, Leola Edwards and husband John of Fariview and Janice Peters and husband William of Enid, 26 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother-in-law and wife, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Patterson of Muskogee and a host of relatives and friends.
