Early Life: He was born in March 27, 1930, to Claude Pace and Amy Isabell Elton Blackburn.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He married the love of his life, Evelyn Jeanne Myers. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He retired after thirty years from the Utah State Prison, where he started many programs. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding, leatherwork and wagon building. He was always a cowboy and a comedian. Galyn Elton "Blackie" Blackburn, 85, passed peacefully away on January 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Survived By: His sweetheart, Jeanne; his children: Jeannѐ (Gary) Saltas, Roy (Joan) Blackburn, Steve (Pam) Blackburn, Scott (Maxine) Blackburn, Lisa (Martin) Cozzens, Lori (Karl) Kyler; sister, Joanne Childers; 25 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded In Death By: His parents, one brother, six sisters, and one great-grandson.
