Josie L. Adams, 85, of Worthville, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at Green Valley Health Care Center in Carrollton, Ky.
She was born May 29, 1921, in Henry County, Ky., the daughter of Noble and Rosa Nell May Claggett. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Carrollton, Ky. She loved to sing, play the piano, sew and garden.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Nelson of Milton, Ky., and James Adams of Worthville, Ky.; two daughters, Cheryl Vincent of Dublin, Ga., and Kathy Lucas of Worthville, Ky.; one sister, Mary Alice Todd of Lebanon Junction, Ky.; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Louis Nelson; her second husband, James Henry Adams; two brothers, Noble Claggett and Gene Claggett; and one sister, Dorothy Shepherd.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg, Ky. Burial will be in the Carrollton Cemetery in Carrollton, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Ransdell Funeral Home, with the Revs. Robbie Knox and Curtis Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born on May 29, 1921, in Henry Co. to the late Noble and Rosa Nell (May) Claggett.
She was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Carrollton. She loved to sing and play the piano. She enjoyed sewing and was always at peace when she worked in her flower garden.
