He was held in esteem by a host of friends, having been a teacher in the public schools of Frederick county for 27 years and operator of a school bus for the past 10 years. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles Mahoney and Mrs. Milton Stobel, Braddock Heights; and four brothers, Rev. E. Carl Mumford, Ellicott City; Stanley, Braddock Heights, William, Camp Springs; and Roy, Frederick.
Services were held at the Gladhill Company Funeral Home; interment in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
