S.W. was the son of Rebecca Sherry and Samuel McCall. After Samuel died in 1795 the family moved to Ross Co., Ohio. S.W. married Anna Clifton (7/4/1795 - 7/29/1833)in Ross Co. on April 10, 1817. They had five children, Montgomery, Sallie, John, Thomas and Samuel. After Anna died S.W. married Elizabeth Connelly Dec. 1, 1833 in Ross Co. They had eight children, Rebecca, George, Mariah, William, Mary, Elizabeth, Sirene and Sherry. S.W. was a veteran of the War of 1812. They moved to Polk Co., Iowa in 1849 to join two sons who had moved in 1845-Montgomery and Thomas Clifton.
