George was the son of Elizabeth Connelly and Samuel W. McCall. He married Mary Ann McKinney (1843 - 1885) Sept. 12, 1865 in Polk Co., Iowa. They had seven children, Thomas, Margaret, Annie, Sarah, Mary, Jessie and Flossie. I do not know when or where Mary Ann died. A Newton Newspaper article on Flossie McCall said her mother died when she was fourteen months old.
