Services for Gladys Elizabeth Wyatt, 94, Wilson, will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monte Dean officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1911, to Joseph Alonzo and Anna Bell Ely Carroll in Ardmore, and died on Sept. 5, 2006, in Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Wyatt; a daughter, Billie Faye Schnorrenberry; a brother, George Carroll; sisters Eula Kirby and Jo M. Vik.
Gladys grew up in Wilson, and after her marriage to A.B. Wyatt they lived in Wilson for several years before moving to Antlers. They also lived in DeQueen, Ark., where she was employed as a hotel manager. They later moved to Ardmore where Gladys became a child caregiver for the McCullough family of Ardmore, whom she considered also her family.
She is survived by sons, Dr. Johnny Wyatt and wife, Lanonna, Grand Junction, Colo., Tommy Wyatt, Burkburnett, Texas, and Jimmy Wyatt and wife, Mary, Wilson; her extended family, the McCulloughs, Ardmore; 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
