Born May 4, 1917 in Wilson, Oklahoma, son of Joseph Angelo Carroll and Annie Bell (Ely) Carroll, he proudly served as a medic in the United States Army during World War II.
He was married to lifetime love, Irene (LaRue) Carroll until her death in 2011.
Survived by sons, Emmitt J. Carroll, Jr., David H. Carroll, George Carroll, Paul Carroll and daughter, Mildred J. Prince; granddaughters, Elizabeth Franklin, Catherine Carroll and Lauren Carroll, daughter-in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceded in death by his wife Irene Carroll, daughter-in-law Angela Carroll and step-grandson Roger Hollenbaugh.
Family and friends will miss him and his stories of growing up during the Great Depression, his antics during his service to our country, and his courtship of his beloved, Irene. Stories that brought history to life from a man we were blessed to know as our father, grandfather and friend.
