This picture was taken on our trip to Bulls Gap October 1968. He told us that he and his family owned all of the property near him on both sides of the road. At that time he was living in the James Gulley house on Walker School/church road, and one of his daughters was living in the Bufford Gulley house. His other two daughters had built new houses across the road from Grandpa's old house. J. F. was a happy seaming man with lots of plans for his farm. Before my next trip to Bulls Gap, J F had built a new home where Grandpa's house one stood, but by the time that we arrived he had suffered a stroke and was in a rest home.
