Ola Pearle Hawkins, 94, of Bulls Gap, TN, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, October 26, 2009. She was a member of Morrisettes Chapel Baptist Church. She worked for many years at St. Clair and Bulls Gap Schools in the cafeteria, where she loved being with and serving the children. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Hawkins, Jr; daughter, Betty Shanks; son-in-law, Wendell Nolen; brothers, James Buchanan and Harvey Buchanan. She is survived by her daughters, Mildred (Hubert) Wilder, and Mary Nolen and son-in-law, Layton Shanks, all of Bulls Gap, TN; grandchildren, Greg (Kathy) Wilder, Jerry Shanks, Cindy (Jeff) Short, Teresa (John) Tunnell, Deborah (Tony) Clevinger, and Mike (Anne) Nolen; eight great-grand-children; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caretaker, Irene Lawson. Special thanks to the nursing staff at Signature Health Care of Rogersville. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Bentley officiating.
