1924-2015

Rev. Claude M. Rogers, 91, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

Claude was born September 28, 1924, at the Okaloosa-Santa Rosa County line, Mary Esther, Florida. He was the eighth of nine children born to Joseph A. and Nancy Barnes Rogers. He was a member of Pace Assembly of God. He retired after 38 years of employment with Gulf Power Company, Central Division, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He was a member of IBEW. He, along with his wife, Mary Barnett Rogers, who preceded Claude in death, owned Hospital Plaza Florist and the Sassy Lassy Dress Shop in Ft. Walton Beach. He was a licensed minister and lay pastor and the founder of Oakland Assembly of God in Ft. Walton.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and eight siblings.

Claude is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Barfield Rogers, of Milton, Florida; four children, Marsha Laughlin of Pace, Mike(Cristi) Rogers of Wing, Alabama, Steve Rogers of Pace, and Joey (Rita) Rogers of Pace; and many loving grandchildren and great-children, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Pace Assembly of God Church in Pace. Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., prior to the services. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements.
