Clara Osteen Hendrick, 90, of Shelby, passed away, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.

She was born on September 30, 1925 in Cleveland County to the late William Buford Spurling and Clara Gantt Spurling. She was a graduate of Piedmont High School and cofounder of Hidden Acre Farms, Inc. A loving mother and homemaker, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she formerly served as a Sunday School teacher and was an active member of WMU.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, John Henry Hendrick; son-in-law, Don Huffstetler; two brothers, W.B. Spurling, Jr. and Harold Spurling; three sisters, Lorene Dixon, Thelma Dixon and Margaret Smith.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lynda Huffstetler of Shelby, Carole Ann Peeler and husband Ronnie of Shelby and Barbara Bridges and husband Chris of Shelby; five grandchildren, Scott Huffstetler and wife Pam, Wesley Peeler, Megan Peeler, Brandon Bridges and Cameron Bridges; and great grandson, Clay Huffstetler.

The family will receive friends from 1:45PM until 2:45PM Sunday in the church fellowship hall. At other times, the family will be at the home of Lynda Huffstetler, 3941 Fallston Rd. Condolences may be made online at www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com

The funeral service will be at 3:00PM on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.

The burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
