She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Clara Gantt and William Buford Spurling Sr., wife of the late Avery Clarence Dixon, homemaker, member of Zion Baptist Church, former Sunday school teacher, graduate of Piedmont High School.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Brothers, Harold G. and W.B. Spurling Jr.
