Mrs. Addie Martin, 70, of Route 2, Palestine, Texas, died in Memorial Hospital in Palestine after an illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Hassell & Foster Chapel, with the Rev. Otis Felton, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, conducting the rites. Burial will be in Bullard Cemetery, Bullard, Texas.

Mrs. Martin is survived by two sons, Osler Harding of Fort Worth, and Sam Fred Harding of Richmond, Cal; three daughters, Mrs. Arland (Mozelle) Skidmore, and Mrs. Leo (Blanche) Bell, both of Palestine, and Mrs. B.F. (Patricia) Schroeder of Waco, Texas. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

Addie was born in Emporia, Kansas, the 4th of 5 children born to James & Addie Mellisa Lewis Hazlitt. Her siblings were Henry, John Oscar, Cloey, and Ava.

She married Sam Houston Harding on May 10, 1898, in Palestine, Texas. They had 5 children, Addie Mozelle, Edward Albert, Osler Simms, Blanche Virginia, and Sam Fredrick.

After her husband died in Ozan, Arkansas in 1918, due to the devastaing influenza epidemic, Addie married George Ralph Martin and moved to Mart, Texas and later to Palestine, Texas. Addie & George had 2 daughters, Dorothy May and Patricia Louise.

Addie is buried beside her first husband, Sam Houston Harding.
