Mrs. Nan B. Surratt, 77, of 1509 Dial Court, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, October 26, 1962, at Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Surratt was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, A.J. Surratt, died 14 years ago.

Surviving are one son, Robert of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. R.W. Reierson of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. A.E. Morgan of Lisle; and Mrs. Carroll Hinman of Alexandria, Va.

p. 54 Hugh [Thomson] and Cynthia [Ann Bard Thomson] had six children: Hugh Caldwell, William McRobert, Leonard Samuel, Bessie Agnew, Nan Bard, and Ray Sherman.

p. 93 Nan was born 10 Jul 1885 in Ia. As a young girl, she was taken by her family to Neb. where they lived in a sod house. Later, the family moved to Minn., then back to Ia. In Winterset.

Nan married Andrew John Surratt on 3 Sep 1912. They had four children; Kathryn Cynthia, Margaret Nan, Andrea Jean and Robert Andrew. The first child was born in Min., the next two in N.D., and the last one in Ill. He was a crop statistician and gained national recognition. Andrew died in an auto accident in Rolla, Mo., on 18 Nov 1948.

Nan died 26 Oct 1962 in Springfield, Ill. and was buried there alongside her husband.
