Susan M. Morton was born in Ohio on
October 23, 1844 and died at Ames,
Oklahoma, on July 17, 1915 at the age
of 70 years, 8 months and 24 days.

She came to Kansas with her parents in
1866 and was married to Richard Morton
on July 27, 1870, he passed away on
January 11, 1897. To this union was born
three children, Mrs. Etta Cook, Salina,
Kansas, Mrs. Clara Haslett, who passed
away on June 21, 1907 and Will Morton
of Manila, P.I.

She became a member of the Methodist
Church on October 14, 1868 and has been
a constant and faithful worker in the
church.

The family resided for many years north-
east of Frankfort, but after her husband
passed away, Mrs. Morton moved into
Frankfort and made her home, until her
health began to fail and it was necessary
a change of climate, and for the last few
years she had been spending her time in
Arkansas and Oklahoma. Besides her
immediate family she is also survived by
several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the First
Methodist church in Frankfort at 2:00
p.m. on Tuesday, July 20th with Reverned
L.R. South officiating.

Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
