Greenwood SC - John Frank Pickell, 76, resident of 212 Beechwood Circle, husband of Martha Nabors Pickell, died August 1, 1998 at Self Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenwood County, October 20, 1921, he was a son of the late William Rufus and Annie Faulkner Pickell. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Pickell formerly served as an officer with the Greenwood City Police Department and retired in 1978 as Lieutenant from the Greenwood County Shefiff’s Department. A member of South Main Street Baptist, he was also a member of the SC Law Enforcement Officer’s Association. Mr. pickell was predeceased by a grandson, Charles Wayne Blackwell, Jr. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Elizabeth P. Buckner, of Greenwood; a sister, Miriam P.
