Beautiful final rites were accorded at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Van Natta Funeral Home for Mrs. Maude B. Louthan, 84, beloved and esteemed elderly resident of Sycamore, who died Thursday afternoon at the Sterling General Community Hospital in Sterling. She had been a medical patient at the hospital since suffering a heart attack August 23, while visiting her granddaughter.

Dr. C. Wesley Israel of the Methodist Church officiated and burial took place in Oakwood cemetery, DeKalb.

Mrs. Louthan was born August 30, 1877, in Arcola, the daughter of Bennis and Alice Ashbrook Bradbury. An April 11, 1900, she married Harvey Louthan at Arcola. The couple moved to Waterman and later to Sycamore.

Mrs. Louthan possessed the finest traits of character and was loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful and active member of the local Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Donald of DeKalb; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Fannie Bradbury, and a brother, Everett Bradbury, of Arcola. Her husband and a daughter predeceased her.
