Sioux City - Paul James Keleher, 72, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Paul was born on Aug. 30, 1941, in Mapleton, Iowa, to Edward G and Mabel L. (Davis) Keleher. He attended school in Danbury, Correctionville, Iowa, and Sioux City.

He was employed at Armor Packing Co. for three years and at Swift and Company for 10 years. Upon moving to Stockton and Lodi, Calif., he graduated from Delta College in Stockton as a maintenance engineer and began employment with Earth Grains in Stockton. He was employed there for 24 years as the assistant chief engineer until his retirement in 2001. In 2002, he returned to Sioux City.

Paul was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, fishing, hunting, his many friends and neighbors, socializing at the Senior Center, and walking his dog, Ginger.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Linda (Steve) Gregg of Sioux City; sons, Doug (Sandy) Keleher of Lodi, and Jim Keleher of Lodi; grandsons, Michael and Brett Keleher of Lodi; brothers, Ronald (LaVonne) Keleher of Sioux City, and Charles "Chuck" (Carole) Keleher of Sioux City; sister, Bev Salvatori of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Michael Keleher; four brothers, Eddie, Joe, Donnie and Wilber Keleher; sister, Nancy Gussi; and his special dog, Ginger.
