Mr. Charles Vernon Frock, 83, of Taneytown, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at his home. Born August 7, 1932 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Levi and Catherine Baker Frock. He was the husband of Dorothy E. Lawrence Frock, who died in 2006. Mr. Frock served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed as a supervisor at Cambridge Rubber Co., Taneytown, until its closing, then at Leister's Furniture of Hanover, PA. He was an honorary member of the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Co. and enjoyed boating, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool, camping, crabbing and going out to eat. Surviving are grandson, Jason M. Stambaugh and wife Karen of Westminster; 2 great grandchildren, Isaac and Alice Stambaugh; son-in-law, Michael E. Stambaugh and wife Donna of Union Bridge; a sister, Mary Carl and husband Donald of Mayberry and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Steven E. Frock in 2005; daughter, Debra Stambaugh in 2012; brother, Robert Frock and sister, Viola Adkins. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with Rev. Robert C. Wills Jr., pastor of Mayberry First Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Baust Cemetery, near Tyrone. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Co., 39 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787.
