Alfred Jason “Shorty” Alcon, age 36, a resident of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Wagon Mound, NM, passed away at the University of New Mexico Hospital on Sunday, October 25, 2015.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Esequiel Alcon and his maternal grandparents, Johnny and Celina Chávez and paternal grandparents, Alfred and Josie Alcon.
Jason is survived by his mother, Susie Alcon of Wagon Mound, NM, his fiancée, Desarae Zamora and children, Johnny, Alyssa and Elizabeth Alcon all of Albuquerque, NM, his step-children, Nevaeh and Filberto Avila and Emiliano Zamora all of Albuquerque, NM, his sisters, Clara Urquijo and her husband, Arturo of Springer, NM, Celina Esquíbel and her husband, Daniel of Wagon Mound, NM, Hope and Tiffany Alcon (David Hare) all of Albuquerque, NM and Sue Alcon (Robert Gonzáles) of Wagon Mound, NM, a brother, Jonathan Alcon of Wagon Mound, NM, special nieces and nephews, Arturo Urquijo Jr., Karl Esquibel, Amber Alcon, Cali Brown, Yolanda Lewis, Penelope Alcon, Joselyn Alcon, Javier Gallegos and Iliana Gallegos.
Jason was born in Springer, New Mexico on October 6, 1979 and attended schools in Springer, NM. Jason was a talented tatoo artist and enjoyed drawing, house cleaning and house painting and did mechanic and yard work. Jason was very knowledgeable as a body builder and was fun-loving, joking and playing pranks. Jason had a generous heart and made sure that people in the community that weren’t fortunate to have family members or money, he would make sure that they had food to eat. Known to many he would “Give his shirt off his back.” Jason felt fortunate that he had a family that loved him unconditionally. Jason was very meticulus about his appearance and was a life long Catholic.
All services will be held at the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Wagon Mound, NM beginning with a rosary on this evening, October 29, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning, October 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Father C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound, NM with the following serving as casket bearers, Johathan Alcon, Karl Esquíbel, Arturo Urquijo Sr., Arturo Urquijo Jr., Trinidad Gallegos and Daniel Esquíbel. Honorary bearers will be David Hare, Javier Gallegos, Cali Brown, Johnny Alcon and Robert Gonzáles.
