Susie C. Alcon, age 77, a lifelong resident of Wagon Mound, NM, passed away peacefully at her home in the arms of her loving family on Monday following a lengthy illness.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Celina Sandoval Chávez, her husband, Esequíel Alcon and a son, Jason Alcon.
Susie is survived by five daughters, Clara Urquijo and her husband, Arturo of Springer, NM, Celina Esquíbel and her husband, Daniel and Hope Alcon, all of Wagon Mound, NM, Tiffany Alcon and her companion, Charles Aragón of Albuquerque, NM and Sue Alcon of Maxwell, NM, one son, Jonathan Alcon of Wagon Mound, NM, three sisters, Priscilla Martínez of Wagon Mound, NM, Betty Martínez and her husband, George of Albuquerque, NM and Dorothy Chávez of La Junta, CO, grandchildren, Arturo Urquijo Jr., Karl Esquíbel, Amber Alcon, Javier Gallegos, Cali Brown, Joselyn Alcon, Johnny Alcon, Alyssa Alcon, Iliana Gallegos, Yolanda Alcon, Penelope Alcon and Elizabeth Alcon and great-grandchildren, Lindi Mae Urtuijo, Karlo Esquíbel and Amarae Ritchey.
Susie was born in Wagon Mound, NM on October 26, 1940 and was a 12th grade graduate and was a seamstress by trade. Susie enjoyed cooking sewing, baking, growing vegetables in her garden. Susie was a very devout Catholic and was a faithful member of the Santa Clara Catholic Church. Susie enjoyed her grandkids, listening to Spanish and Country music and enjoying her family.
Services will be held from the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Wagon Mound, NM with a rosary on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the Santa Clara Cemetery with the following relatives serving as casket bearers, Jonathan Alcon, Karly Esquíbel, Daniel Esquíbel, Arturo Urquijo Jr., Arturo Urquijo Sr, Charles Aragón, Javier Gallegos and Trini Gallegos. Honorary bearers will be Cali Brown, Johnny Alcon, Anthony Martínez and Karlo Esquîbel.
