Thomas RA Rigsby (90) of Lonsdale, AR passed away Friday October 30th at Saline Memorial Hospital.
R.A. was born August 8, 1925 in the Lonsdale Community.
He was a lifelong member and deacon of Smith Creek Missionary Baptist Church. RA was a plumber before going to work at Thermogas of Benton where he worked until retirement but his love and passion was farming. He was a Mason and a 65 year member of Whittington Lodge. He was a veteran and a lineman in the Army and served as a staff Sargent stationed in Japan and Philippines in World War II.
RA was preceded in death by his parents William and Annie Rigsby and 13 Brothers and Sisters: Carl, Herbert, Harold, Donnie, Jerry Wayne, Eldon, Thelma Canton, Mary Lee Garner, Lucille Abbott, Lois Eudy, Faye Coleman, and Marry Olson.
RA is survived by his wife of 65 years Marcie Plyler Rigsby; three children: Tommy and wife Vickie of Lonsdale, Mike and wife Debbie of Lonsdale, and Debbie and Husband Mike Potter of Shannon Hills; One brother Melvin Rigsby of Hot Springs. He has 8 Grandchildren, Kim (Brad) Brown, Joe (Melissa) Rigsby, Kristie (Mark) Wilson, Jeremy (Jennifer) Rigsby, Terri (Heath) Shaffett, Mark Cone, Aaron Potter, and Justin (Tessa) Potter, 2 Step Grandchildren: Jason (Katie) Davis and Jonathan Davis, 15 Great-Grandchildren, 3 step Great-Grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Joe Rigsby, Jeremy Rigsby, Mark Cone, Justin Potter, Aaron Potter, Brock Rigsby, William Rigsby, and Ryan Brown. Honorary Pallbearers are Lon Nichols, John Shockey, Vick Goodman, Doyl Wooten, and Freddy Sears.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. November 4, 2015 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Shepard officiating.
Burial will follow at Smith Creek Cemetery in Lonsdale.
