William Henry Wise passed away Monday at his home in Lawson. He had been in poor health some time, but had been better the past few days.
For many years he operated a general store at Vibbard and at Union, selling out the store at Union about two years ago, and moving to Lawson with his wife.
He was born in Ray county February 10, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wise, and was almost 83 years of age, at the time of his death.
September 30, 1882 he was united in marriage to Luzica Mosley, who died May 30, 1900.
May 1, 1903 he was married to Nettie Norris.
He was a member of the Christian Union Church.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Charles Wise of Colorado; eight daughters, Mrs. J.C. Dagley of Sterling, Colorado; Mrs. John Myers of Miami, Oklahoma; Mrs. Oscar Hankins of Lawson; Mrs. Albert James of Lawson; Mrs. Trent Goodwin of Excelsior Springs; Mrs. Roy Albright of Excelsior Springs; Miss Iva Wise of Excelsior Springs; and Mrs. Abbie Moss of Polo; two brothers, Earl Wise of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Charles Wise of Portland, Oregon; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha McCanless of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Bonnie Cox of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Nettie Fitzsimmons of New York; Mrs. Myrtle Hinn of Omaha, Nebraska; and Mrs. Florence Cravens of California; and many other relatives and friends.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The funeral services will be held at Union Church. Burial will be in the Union cemetery. The Jarman-Prichard Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
