Abbie C. Moss, 89, of Richmond, Mo., died at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2002, a the North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Moss was born January 19, 1931, in Vibbard, Mo., to William H. and Nettie (Norris) Wise. She married Kenneth E. Moss of Polo, Mo. in 1936. They lived on a farm southeast of Polo for more than 30 years. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two nieces, Betty Atkins of Lawson, Mo., and June Logan of Tulsa, Ok.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys James, Mabel Albright, Laveta Goodwin and Iva Welfelt; one half-brother; and three half-sisters.
Mrs. Moss grew up in the Old Union community and was member of the Old Union Church. She had also lived in the Polo area before moving to Richmond in 1985.
She loved baseball, fishing and traveling. She was busy and active to the end, always with a sense of humor and a smile.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Shirkey Foundation.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July, 17, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, 2002, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Burial will be at Cowgill Cemetery in Cowgill, Mo.
Arrangements are being handled by Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo.
