Martha Jean Hayes Williams Cole Rankin Taylor

No, that is not a law firm......

It does, however, tell a little about a life fully lived in just over 68 years.

Born to L.M. and Pauline Hayes on March 20, 1947, Martha was the sixth of seven girls and the eighth of nine children in the Hayes family.

Martha grew up in Wickenburg, and spent time in Aguila, Bouse, Salome and Parker over the years.

Arizona couldn’t claim her completely though, as she also lived in Corona, Calif., and Okanogan, Wash.

Martha was married to Dennis Williams, Jim Cole and Charles Rankin. For Martha, the fourth time was the charm.

She married Charles “Buck” Taylor in October of 1979 and they spent the rest of their lives together, first in Arizona, and from May of 1990 in Okanagan, Wash. Martha passed away on July 27, 2015, just a few short months after Buck had passed.

Martha was also predeceased by her parents, L.M. and Pauline Hayes; and her six sisters, Mary, Mimia, Jackie, JoAnn, Sherrill and Debbie. The last of the Hayes girls is gone.

Martha is survived by her brothers, Louis of Wickenburg and Vernon of Congress; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws and dear friends.

A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on the back patio of the Bar 7 from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
