Paul Sandberg of Hoffman passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN at the age of 90 years.

Paul Erling Sandberg was born in Fergus Falls on August 15, 1925 to Reverend Ivar and Marion (Berrum) Sandberg. He grew up and received his education in Barrett, graduating with the class of 1943. Following graduation, he joined the Merchant Marine. He served with them in Europe and Japan from 1943 to 1946. After leaving the Merchant Marine, Paul came back to Barrett and worked with his brother John at the hardware store.

On October 2, 1948 he was united in marriage to Norma Isakson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Barrett by his father. The couple made their home in Barrett. In 1971, they moved to Slayton, MN and lived there until 1986, when they returned to Barrett. Eventually they moved to Hoffman where they have remained ever since.

Paul enjoyed participating in and watching sports. He enjoyed reading, especially Louis L 'Amour novels, golfing and watching westerns on television. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
