Born to Tom and Fannie Rogers, of Fines Creek, near Waynesville, NC, Jerry finished high school at Fines Creek High. She graduated with a BS in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNC-Greensboro) in 1942. After teaching physical education in NC public schools, she moved to Baltimore, MD to work with the Y. There she was introduced to her husband-to-be, Roland L. "Bud" Wolfe, by her sister Ruth and her husband Jim Magher (a childhood friend of Bud's). They married in 1945. Jerry and Bud were married for 49 years, when he passed away in 1996. As a military wife, Jerry travelled the world with Bud, while raising two daughters. Jerry loved golf, arts and crafts, swimming, and being a hostess for numerous functions as an officer's wife.

Geraldine Rogers Wolfe, 76, of 1308 East Ridge Village Drive, Miami, Fla., formerly of the Fines Creek Community, died April 20, 1996.

She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Fannie M. Rogers. She was the wife of the late Roland L. Wolfe, Lt. Col., USAF, Ret., who died in 1994. She was a former high school physical education teacher and a homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters, Lt. Col. Barbara Kucharczyk of Sheppard AFB, Texas, and Betty Wolfe of Durham; three sisters and their husbands, Mildred and Frank Martin of Marietta, Ga., Ruth and Jim Magher of Spartanburg, S.C., Dorothy and Bill Greenleaf of Waynesville.

A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at the Horizon at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens, Clyde. A reception and receiving of friends will be held following the service. Crawford/Ray Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
