GIBSON CITY: Albert J. Marcellus, 79, prominent farmer of this vicinity for the last 50 years, died of a heart attack at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 1935, at his home, seven miles south of here, after an illness of less than an hour.

He was born on a farm near Le Roy April 13, 1856 and when a child, with his twin sister, Jennie, went to live with Dr. Fisher of Le Roy, where they were raised as members of the family.

He married Miss Emma Vance of Le Roy, January 19, 1881 and they began housekeeping on a farm near Le Roy where they lived for five years, then removed to the farm south of Gibson City, which they had purchased. He had lived there since.

Surviving are the widow and seven children: Willard of Clinton; Mrs. Mary Day, Frank and Harry of Gibson City; Lee of Houston, TX; Wilson of Ft. Worth, TX; and Charles of Dewey. There are 13 grandchildren and a great grandson, Richard H. Day of Hammond, IN. Of several brothers and sisters, his twin sister, Mrs. Jennie McCullough of Spokane, WA, is the only survivor. A granddaughter, Hazel Marcellus, junior in Drummer Towhship High School, has been raised in his home since the death of her mother when she was a baby.
