GIBSON CITY: Mrs. Emma Vance Marcellus, 89, died at 5:0 a.m. October 31, 1952, at the Williams Nursing Home, where she had been a patient five years.
She was taken to the Lamb Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dr. S. A. Guthrie, pastor of the Methodist Church, and the Rev. Ralph Dean, pastor of the Foosland Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Drummer Township Cemetery at Gibson City, IL.
She was born January 6, 1863, near Le Roy, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Vance. She married Albert J. Marcellus January 19, 1881.
Her husband died in December of 1935.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Day of Gibson City; six sons, Willard G. of Clinton; Frank and Harry, both of Gibson City; Lee and Wilson, both of Fort Worth, TX; and Charles of Dewey; 12 grandchildren including Mrs. Hazel Armstrong of Fisher, who was reared by the Marcelluses, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
She was a member of the Foosland Methodist Church.
