Jerlene Majorwitz, 75, of Lamar died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at her home.

She was a native of Dover,
daughter of the late Robert and
Anna Mae Ross Bates, a tool company
cafeteria manager in Houston,
Texas, for several years prior
to retiring and moving back to
Arkansas, member of the Pleasant
Grove Assembly of God Church
where she was a former Sunday
school teacher and had previously
served as the leader of the women’s
quilting group at North New Hope
Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband,
Raymond Wiley; one brother, Eugene
Bates; two sisters, Vera Begeman
and Willa Dean Bates; and
sister-in-law, Betty Bates.

Survivors include her husband of
34 years, Johnny Majorwitz; one
son, Melvin Wiley of Lamar; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Priscilla
and Tommy Delgado of Lamar
and Anna and Bennie Hampton
of Dover; six grandchildren and
spouses, Joey and Robin Delgado,
Lisa and Justin Hood, Melissa
and Justin Singleton, and Rachel
and Phillip Collie, all of Dover,
Christa and Kevin Schouweiler of
Hartman, and Melanie Wiley of
New Braunfels, Texas; 14 great-
grandchildren; two brothers and
a sister-in-law, Robert Bates and
Dennis and Kay Bates, all of Dover;
two sisters, Mary Gottsponer
and Billie Perez, both of Dover;
and stepchildren, Danny Majorwitz
of Houston and Carol and
Bill McLain of Oklahoma.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
Oct. 6, at Pleasant Grove Assembly
of God Church with Rev.
Phillip C. Collie II and Rev. Tony
Busby officiating.

Burial was in Owens Cemetery
at Dover under the direction of
Humphrey Funeral Service of
Russellville.

Pallbearers were Joey, Jacob and
Tommy Delgado, Bennie Hampton,
Kevin and Dylan Schouweiler,
Justin Singleton and Clay Rasbury.
