Jennie "Wilhite" Martin, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 1997. She was born on October 14, 1906 in "Indian Territory" Oklahoma, to Charles A. & Della May "Casey" Wilhite. She was a twin to her sister Juanita "Wilhite" Durrenburger. Mrs. Martin was a long time member of the Baptist Church. She loved to sing the old southern gospel hymns while doing her housework.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Della Wilhite, her husband, Arthur H. Martin (5-2-1981), two (2) daughters, Norma Lee "Martin" Trammell (9-2-1996), and Lois Maxine "Martin" Smith (8-3-1991).
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Douglas of Grand Prairie, TX., ten (10) grandchildren, James A. Trammell of Corpus Christi, (Dora), Dianne "Trammell" Grooms of West Union, Ohio,(Dennis), Steven M. Trammell of Broken Arrow, OK., (Carolyn), Cindy "Smith" Goodrich of Yokaum, TX., (Billy), Roy Smith II of Galveston, TX., (Lucy), Dianna Hensley of Edinburg, TX., (Scott), Gregory A. Smith of Houston, TX., Cathy J. Jones of Wylie, TX.,(Darek), Jeffrey Glen Douglas and Sarah M. "Douglas" Agnor both of Arlington, TX., (Richard); eighteen (18) great-grandchildren and one (1) great great grandchild, Angel Leigh Grooms; two (2) sisters, Edith Merle "Wilhite" Dollar of Noblesville, IN., and Ruthene I. "Wilhite" Milford of Tahlequah, OK.,
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 1997 at Seaside
Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 14, 1997 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
