Carl O. Ash Sr., 92, left this world in the early hours of October 2, 2015 to reunite with his beautiful wife of 68 years, Mary Jo, whom he lost in 2013.

Carl is survived by his sons; daughter; grandchildren.

Born in Elizabeth, W. Va., he joined the U.S. Army at age 17 by slightly inflating his age. He served in the European Theater in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946.

Carl and Mary Jo called New Franklin their home for over 60 years. He was very active in youth football, baseball, and softball. As a result, he was inducted into the Manchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame as an honorary member in 2000.

Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
