Mrs. Laura E. Rand died Wednesday at her home, 543 Liberty St. Although she had been an invalid three years, her death was sudden and unexpected. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Duffield, prominent Venango county residents, and was born in Franklin Jan. 3, 1860.
She married Frank C. Rand who died 12 years ago.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Percy D. Rand of Pittsburgh, Mrs. S. L. Walker of Polk, and Frank C. Rand of Jacksonville, TX; and six grandchildren.
She was known for her kindness, patience and many sterling qualities of character and was admired and respected by a host of friends.
Services will be Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at her residence with Rev. J. J. Barr, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
