Frank C. Rand, born February 14, 1852, in Champion, O., died at his residence at 548 Liberty street at 10 o'clock Sunday forenoon, January 29.
He had been a resident of Franklin for the past 13 years. For 30 years previous to that he lived at Polk and, during that period, was passenger agent for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern railroad, now the New York Central. During 15 years of his residence at Polk, he was proprietor of the Duffield house, Since his removal to Franklin, he had been employed at the plant of the General Manifold and Printing Co. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Franklin. He was one of the best known residents of this city, was known to pretty nearly all in Polk, and many throughout the county. Of quiet and unassuming type and domestic in his tastes, he was held in high esteem throughout his unusually wide circle of acquaintanceship.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura E. Rand; two sons, P. D. Rand of Pittsburgh, and Frank C. Rand Jr. of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Mrs. S. L. Walker of Polk; five grandchildren; a brother, Charles Rand, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Smith, both of Youngstown, OH.
Services will be at the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, private for family and relatives. Interment will be in the Franklin cemetery.
