Norma M. Chambliss, age 96, of Wilton, Iowa formerly of Tipton, Iowa, died on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Wilton Retirement Community, Wilton, Iowa.
Norma was born June 27, 1919 to John and Grace (Lincoln) Birkhofer in Muscatine County, Iowa. Norma married Gerald W. Chambliss on August 5, 1936 in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2003.
Private family services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Interment will take place at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine, Iowa.
Norma is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters; Shirley Grunder of Muscatine, Iowa and Patricia (Don) Parker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her sons Robert Chambliss of Muscatine, Iowa and Ronald (Diane) Chambliss of Tipton, Iowa; her brother Nevin (Frances) Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Janet Chambliss; son Richard Chambliss; sisters Dorothy Smull and Lois Coram and her brother John Birkhofer, Jr.
