Esther Caroline Lindsey Sutley, 86, of Pittston Road, Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Born October 10, 1923, in Franklin, Mrs. Sutley was the daughter of the late Floyd LeRoy and Carrie M. Beer Lindsey.

Mrs. Sutley was a homemaker and she enjoyed growing African violets. She was a member of the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church for over 40 years.

Mrs. Sutley was married May 6, 1946 to Thomas J. Sutley, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Charles Allan Sutley and his wife, Linda, of Cochranton; her daughter, Crystal Rosemary Hodak and her husband, Stephen, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; her five grandchildren, Rebecca Faith Keeney of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, Allan Dale Sutley of PA Furnace, Pennsylvania, Jennifer Dawn Bresee of Cochranton, Pamela Joy Vogt of Chicago, Illinois, and Nathan Stephen Hodak of Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Sutley, of Quarryville, Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sutley was preceded in death by her son, Garry Thomas Sutley; her two brothers, George V. Lindsey and Floyd L. Lindsey, Jr. and her sister, Lucy L. Brink.

Friends may call from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, June 19 at the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm with the Rev. Jonathan Bell, pastor of the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church, presiding. Interment will follow at Zion Wesleyan Methodist Church Cemetery in Sandy Lake.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Women's Missionary Society at the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1333 Buffalo Street, Franklin PA 16323. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
