Funeral services for Dollie L. Murdy, 93, East Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Houston, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Murdy died at 8:20 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015 at her home.
She was born August 15, 1922, at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, to Bert Hezekiah Abney and Martha Melvina Lee Abney. She was married to Dale C. Murdy, who preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Murdy was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting and collecting dolls. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by two children, Dennis Dwayne Murdy, wife, Kathleen and Keith Carson Murdy; eight grandchildren, Nancy Logsdon, husband, Rickey, Sharry Lovan, husband, Jack, Dwight Murdy, Daisy Smith, husband, Danny, Benjamin Murdy, wife, Angela, Viola Dollie Scruggs, Tammy Rossman, husband, Jack and Johnathan Murdy; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son, Edward Dale Murdy, one grandson, Wendell Murdy and all of her siblings, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
