Reuel Vickers Alder, 69, died Friday, July 27, 1990 in a Bountiful hospital.
Born Sept. 22, 1920 in Salt Lake City, son of Reuel Johnston and Rita Vickers Alder. Married Lillian Soutas July 11, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Active member of the LDS Church. High priest in the Val Verda Sixth Ward. Ordinance worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member of the Civil Air Patrol. Veteran WWII.
He was a tabernacle usher for ten years and a symphony hall usher for 10 years. He was involved in scouting, an Eagle Scout. Taught the gun safety course for several years, enjoyed gardening, was a craftsman of woodwork and model airplane building.
Survived by wife, Lillian, Bountiful; children, Vickie Lynne Smith, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Reuel S. Alder, South weber; Michael D. Alder, South Ogden; Daniel C. Alder, San Diego, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Bertrand Alder, Salt Lake City; Eugene Alder, Kaysville; Rita (Babe) Johnson, Layton; Lorraine Mathews, Park City. Preceded in death by sister, Carol.
Funeral services were held July 31, under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. Internment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
