Funeral services for Orlo A. Anderson were held Wednesday, June 23, 1965 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home, with Rev. Eldon Bose offering. Bearers were Clyde McFarland, Max Roberts, Ward Cooper, Mervin Laire, Miles Roberts and Clifford White. Flower bearers were Bette Roberts and Mrs. Elnora Roberts. Music was by Mrs. Carolyn Harris accompanied by Mabel Dunn in the following selections, "Abide With Me," "In The Garden." Concluding service and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
Orlo A. Anderson, son of Andrew G. and Anna Larson Anderson was born January 7, 1906 near Lincoln, Adams County, Iowa. Several years later he was baptized in the Christian Church at Morton Mills. On December 26, 1924 he was married to Ethel Bates of Villisca.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Emmet L. at 16 months of age. Those surviving are his wife Ethel; a son, Francis A. and a daughter Mrs. LaVaughn Williams, both of Alto, California; two brothers, Joe L. of Santa Ana, California and Orville A. of Villisca; four sisters, Julia G. Peterson of Villisca, Mrs. William Belinken of Massena, Iowa, Mrs. Ralph Sewell of Stanton, California, Ruth Hartle of Long Beach, California; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He passed away July 19 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha after an illness of 3 months. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
