Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept.1, at Freeman Funeral Home for Birl Clark, 78, of State Line, who died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at his residence.
Bro.Boyd Atterberry, Bro. David Price and Bro. Gerald Fitzgerald officiated.Interment was in the Birl Clark Family Cemetery at his home in the Old Avera community.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sandhill and was the owner of Birl Clark Grocery for 12 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and father-in-law. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Coley Clark Sr.; mother, Hattie Pope Clark; and sister, Rae Belle McLain.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marie Clark; son, Phillip (Carrol) Clark; daughter, Lynetta (Doyle) Crager; son, Elton (Cynthia) Clark, all of State Line; and daughter, Sandra (David) West of Leakesville; brothers, Coley Clark Jr. and Huey Paul (Vonita) Clark; sisters, Vermelle Walley, Ethel McLain, and Barbara (Irvin) Farmer; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
