Lucretia "Creasy" was the step-daughter of Cornelius "Neely" Compton and daughter of Rebecca Jane Patterson. [Some speculate that her biological father was a public servant named Mr. Spraker of Tazewell Co., VA.] Lucretia married Thomas Burns Kinzer. After Thomas died, she lived with their son, Charles Edward Kinzer, and his family until her death in 1926.

Mrs. Lucretia Kinzer, who made her home with her son, Charles Kinzer, on Walnut Street, this city, died Wednesday night at 10:45 o'clock. Mrs. Kinzer had passed her nintieth milepost in the journey of life. Before her marriage, she was a Miss Compton, and she leaves behind to mourn her loss two sons and three daughters, in addition to a host of friends. Funeral service will be held in the First Methodist Church at this place this afternoon at 1 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Dr. A.B. Moore of Athens. Interment will be made in Oakwood Cemetery. The active pallbearers are: L.G. Bowling, H.D. Karnes, J.A. Vest, J.B. Neal, Dr. John H. Bird, Dr. W.I. Cautier, A. Crockett Bailey and A.L. Bowling. Honorary ballbearers: Alex Cooper, S.E. Via,, Dr. Uriah Vermillion, Dr. Donzie Lilly, E.K. Ketron, Peck Spangler, Cyrus Houchins, Howe Johnson, John Day, E.Q. Walker, Ezra Walker, D.R.S.T. Bird, Dr. J.R. Vermillion, L.G. Walker, J.A. Mace, H.G. McGraw, I.H. Fry, G.C. Morris, H.C. Roney, Harve Perfater, Dr. G.L. Todd, H.G. Woods, D.T. Carr, J.E. Bratton, Parker Wilson, and S.A. Lynch.
