David Robert York, 55, of Warriormines, died Wednesday morning in a Welch hospital after an apparent heart attack. Born in Coal Creek, Tenn, he was a son of the late George and Stella Wallace York. He was a member of UMWA local 7335 of Wilco.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Della Staten York; two sons, David D. York of Moundsville and Ronnie Ray York with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam; five daughters, Delores Sullivan of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Doris Adolphson of Lansing, Mich., Carlotta Donaldson of Columbus, Bonnie and Dawn York of Warriormines; five grandchildren; nine sisters, Mrs. Maggie McMillan of Fancy Gap, Va., Mrs. Roxie Gilbert and Mrs. Josephine Lawson of Glenford, Ohio, Mrs. Geraldine Mabe of Mt. Airy, N.C., Mrs. Vilot Brewster of Pinnacle, N.C., Mrs. Vida Peterson of West Orange, N.J., Mrs Jannet Heath and Mrs. Shirley Blevins of Araret, N.C., and Mrs. Barbara Chapman of Winston-Salem, N.C.

Funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Douglas Chapel in War with Rev. Willard Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Hartwell Cemetery at Hartwell.
