THE PARIS NEWS, Jul. 16, 2002:

Jimmie Nelda Gaither McQuigg, 68, of Sumner went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2002, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Little Vine Cemetery under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born on March 25, 1934, the daughter of Jack M. and Ruby Crossland Gaither. She married James McQuigg in 1972. He preceded her in death in 1975. She was a member of the Powderly Church of God and her greatest love was for gospel music and listening to her brother, Jerry Gaither, sing. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Nedra Henderson; and a grandson, Donnie Lester. Survivors include her mother, Ruby Ray of Blossom; daughters, Nancy Devore of Wichita Falls, Benji Loftin of Paris, Carolyn Nolting and husband Curtis of Enid, Okla. and Penny Goley Sapp and husband Danny of Sumner; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Canida and husband Charlie of Powderly; three brothers, Billy Jack Gaither and wife Aliene of Mount Pleasant, Jerry Gaither and wife Minnie of Hugo, Okla. and William Clark and wife Tammy of Paris; and several nieces and nephews. Casket bearers will be Taylor Clark, Dierk Clark, Ernest Goley, Christopher Gaither, Jerry Dewayne Gaither and Willie Gray Sapp.
