Harold was the oldest son of Leo and Nola(Haney) Bowman. He was a likeable and soft-spoken young man who loved rough-and-tumble sports. Football, baseball and basketball was his element. When choosing up sides for teams on the playground he was always among the first ones chosen.

He was a talented, though very modest artist. The only person not totally convinced of his artistic abilities was himself.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances Harold was the soul supporter of his parents and siblings at the age of seventeen. Although he had been encumbered with this heavy responsibility he took it in stride and never complained. He felt that the situation was only temporary and that there was a bigger and brighter future ahead of him. Just three months and six days short of his eighteenth birthday those dreams were cut short.

Harold passed away from injuries he had sustained fifteen days earlier in a fire at the service station he worked at.
