Son of Christopher Columbus Robbins and Cynthia Anne (Price) Robbins.

Married to Effie Cora (Houk) Robbins on November 8, 1896. Father of Viola, Donnel Delmer, Cecil Dick, Ivan B., Pauline Opal and Zilpha Elizabeth Robbins.

Services Thursday For Mr. Robbins

Services for James Delmer Robbins, 86, of Carlisle, who died Monday evening at the Vincennes Nursing Home, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Indian Prairie Church with the Rev. Robert Allen officiating.

Mr. Robbins resided in the Shaker Prairie community most of his life.

He was a member of the Indian Prairie Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Cecil of Vincennes, Don and Ivan Robbins, both of Carlisle; three daughters, Miss Zelpha Robbins and Mrs. Viola Lambeth, both of Carlisle, and Mrs. Pauline Phegley of Switz City; a brother, Lee Robbins of New Lebanon and 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

The body will be taken to the church at noon Thursday. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Friends may call at the Schulze Funeral Home in Carlisle beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
