Mrs. Jenkins was born on January 11, 1915 in Portal, GA to the late Jasper Edmond and Mary Elizabeth Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jackson Jenkins, daughter Meredith, six sisters, and three brothers.
She graduated from Portal High School and went on to study drama in New York City where she was active in many different theatrical productions. Prior to moving to Atlanta, GA in the late 1960s, she resided in Emanuel County with her husband and two children where she was active in many civic and community events. She taught drama and elocution and was an inspiration to many young people.
She is survived by One son and Daughter-In-Law: John J and Dianne Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, One granddaughter: Jennifer Jenkins, three grandsons: John Jenkins III, David and Clay Lamb, Many nieces and nephews.
