SARAH S. JANNEY / 1853. [WCB]: Her gravestone was one of eight gravestones present in Sept. 1992 along the east side of the north corner of the Kate Waller Barrett Memorial Building (Alexandria Public Library), as surveyed by Wesley Pippenger and diagrammed in his "Tombstone Inscriptions of Alexandria, Virginia" (1992). The other gravestones identified by Pippenger are located in the Woodlawn Friends Meeting House Cemetery at Fort Belvoir, Fairfax County, Virginia.

in her 68th year; transcription may be in error - membership records indicate the wife of Phineas Janney was Susanna Saunders who died May 1, 1853 in her 68th year.
