WM. JAMES HARDY TAKEN BY DEATH

Funeral services were conducted from the Bowman Methodist church for William James Hardy, 85, Wednesday afternoon, April 27. Mr. Hardy passed away at his home near Buffalo Springs at 4 a.m.

A pioneer resident of Bowman county, Mr. Hardy came here in 1908. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Vera Wrenn and Roma Hardy.

HOLD RITES FOR WM. J. HARDY

Funeral services for William J. Hardy were conducted from the Bowman Methodist church Wednesday, April 27 with Rev. H.J. Empie officiating.

Mr. Hardy passed away at his home in Buffalo Springs Sunday, April 24.

He was born August 19, 1864 in Howard County, Iowa, the son of William and Mary Hardy, early pioneers of that area and was one of nine children, all of whom, preceded him in death.

On November 27, 1891, he was united in marriage to Daisy Mary Crowell, who passed away September 23, 1902. To this union three children were born, Roma Hardy and Mrs. Vera Wrenn, Buffalo Springs and Thelma Hardy, who died August 28, 1911.

He lived on the Hardy homestead in Howard County, Iowa, until 1908 when he moved to his homestead northeast of Buffalo Springs, operating that farm until October 1943 when he and his daughter, Roma, moved to Buffalo Springs.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his two daughters; one grandson, John E. Wrenn, and three great grandchildren, of Lemmon, S.D., and a host of friends and neighbors.
