A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2006 at Riverside National Cemetery for John Robert "Bud" Hardesty Sr., 81, of Hemet. Inurnment will be private.

Bud was born on October 15, 1924 in Armorel, AR and he passed away July 14, 2006 at Loma Linda VA Hospital. Bud was a carpenter for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He received a Purple Heart in 1944 and an Oak Leaf w/cluster in 1945.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline Hardesty; daughters, Teresa Downey (Richard) of Opelika, AL, Vicki Edwards (John) of Banning, CA; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Sam Hardesty of Pekin, IL and Gene Hardesty of Missouri. Bud is preceded in death by his sons, John Robert Hardesty Jr. and Jerry Allen Hardesty and his daughter, Mary Katherin Hardesty.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bud's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
